Group Training

Group Training Sessions

We offer obedience and social training in a group enviroment, with a maximum of 10 per group to allow us to spend adequate time with each dog and owner. This option is popular for basic training needs but due to the group setting is not able to address behavioural issues or achieve results as quickly as our individual one on one training option.

Group training sessions run for an hour each week, and are structured to flow from one session to the next with home practise by you in between.

This course of sessions commences with teaching you :

  • basic canine psychology,
  • how your dog thinks and operates,
  • what your dog requires from you,
  • what we should be doing and the reasons why,
  • and just as importantly what we shouldn’t be doing and the reasons why.

We also cover the three basic leash manners :

  • we stop the dog jumping up at humans,
  • teach your dog that when you are stationary with it on a lead it stays within a half metre boundary of you,
  • and the same principle when walking on the lead.

By the end of the full course of sessions, you and your dog will have achieved the following :

  • Walking on a loose lead
  • Sitting on command
  • Dropping on command
  • Stays on command
  • Reliable recalls

It is possible that by the conclusion of training some dogs will be capable of completing all of the above on voice commands alone, hand signals alone and often off lead.

Once you have completed the 10 week group training course, we offer you the option to advance to our Social Group Training, which allows you to practise your training in a controlled environment with other dogs and people, to continue on to an advanced level and to enjoy the social aspect of group training for both you and your dog.

Group training is a course of structured lessons held weekly for 10 weeks, in the Northern suburbs of Perth, the cost of group training is $250 for the course (equates to $25 per session).
